THE RACING DISCIPLINES

AUTOCROSS

Autocross involves cars being released separately onto the track. Up to three cars are permitted on the course at one time subject to its layout. Drivers compete against the clock on tight, twisty, and challenging dirt courses for a single lap. It provides an excellent intro to driving quickly on dirt and serves as a great preview for those interested in exploring Rally or Off-Road events in the future.

RALLY

Rallying is one of the most distinctive forms of motorsport globally, featuring a driver and a co-driver or navigator who reads the course. It’s a thrilling contest between the driver, their vehicle, and the clock. Licenses are available for both drivers and navigators. Rallies can take place on either gravel or tarmac, in unpredictable conditions and are usually held on public roads that are closed off to public traffic.

MOTORKHANA

Motorkhana events are designed to evaluate cars’ acceleration, braking, and handling, as well as drivers’ skill and judgment. They offer a blend of fun and learning as participants practice car control, navigating through challenges involving oversteer and understeer at safe speeds and controlled conditions. Each event typically features a series of tests based on pre-determined layouts.

HILLCLIMB

Hill climbing is a motorsport where a single car races against the clock on the track. The courses used can be specialized hill climb venues or short sections of closed public roads that have been adapted for the event. One of the key challenges of hill climbing is driving the car quickly without the benefit of warming up the tires and brakes beforehand.

CIRCUIT RACING

Circuit racing is a competition held on a closed track where two or more cars race simultaneously. The outcome is decided by the order in which the cars cross the finish line after completing the required number of laps or specified distance within a set time. Club level all the way to the Supercars Championship.

ENDURANCE & OFFROAD

Off-road events are held on courses that traverse a variety of terrains. Short Course events covers up to 15 kilometers. Long Course event extends beyond 15 kilometers and may feature obstacles such as jumps and river crossings. Most events require both a driver and a navigator. Some events include a single-seater class.
